Miles to go Before We …. Relax ….

It’s that time of the year when my entire family has begun the spiral …. It’s hot, we are exhausted from the sports, finals, school projects, Pinterest-inspired teachers’ gifts (ugghhh), field trips and homework melt downs. In our house, we begin a “Count Down to Summer” and begin manic discussions of all the great things summer will bring us! No homework! No tests! No uniforms! NO MAKING LUNCHES! (Of course, no one else appreciates that one!)

This year, we are fortunate to be doing a bit if traveling – some exotic, some local, but nonetheless, a lot of planning/packing/organizing to be done. Got me thinking about all the great gadgets we could use on our travels.

Coming Up Roses… or Daisies … or Pansies …

After a long, hard winter in the Northeast, I am bursting with joy at the sight of flowers pushing their way through the soil and adding much needed color to my yard! It’s another sign that “We Made It” through another few months of below zero temps and frigid north winds!

To celebrate this season, I have purchased seed cards and incorporated them into my party planning.  Have you ever used them? They are a wonderful way to add pizazz to an invitation or a card …

When my daughter and son were making their First Holy Communion, I used a seed cross on the front of my son’s invitation. It was a periwinkle blue to match the color scheme of the party. Although people did not keep the invite, they did plant the cross, the plants grew and the flowers reminded them of his special day.
Two years later, I used heart confetti flower paper in teal blue (again, coordinating with the theme). It was a playful addition to an otherwise standard invite. And again, the guests planted the seeds and had beautiful flowers to remind them of yet another meaningful day.

I have also used seed cards when mailing sympathy cards. I know for myself, it’s nice to plant something in memory of a loved one. A gentle reminder of the joy that person brought.
Check out these fun ways to use seed cards for your personal or business use!
