Every August we start to see all the creative and unique new products that our manufacturers are coming out with for October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Lace Up! It’s Time to Train!

Although training for a race has been literally impossible this past month, whether I like it or not, the “Spring Race Season” will be here before I know it! Even if you have never run a race before, there are plenty of on-line training schedules you can reference. One of my favorites is Hal Higdon’s website. I have used his programs to train for everything from a 5k to a mud run to a marathon (ok, so that was a LONG time ago, but still, I finished).  Training for races is also a great way to create camaraderie with your employees or coworkers. It doesn’t hurt that it gets your heart pumping as well!

Here are just some of my favorite promotional product exercise, training and running gear …

         A  fleece ear band has been essential – especially for those of us living in 

the Northeast! This is a great product for men, women and children. 

      

  A water bottle that allows you to grip the bottle 

as well as store a key is great for those long training sessions. 

       An adjustable arm band for your audio device 

is a great product that can be used for all types of exercising (maybe not swimming)!

New Year, New Energy

A few years ago, my family began a fun tradition ... every New Year's Day we open our "Time Capsule" that has contained our wishes for the upcoming year, our favorite color, movie and pastime as well as an object that best represents us at the time. It's always fun to see (a year later) how much we have changed over the past year. It's also entertaining to see how well we did with our goal- sometimes we nail it and sometimes we don't even come close! The fun thing with kids is they make us realize we shouldn't take everything so seriously - just because I didn't make my goal weight or fitness objectives doesn’t mean the whole year is a total loss. If anything, I am reminded to “relax” and look at all the great things that have happened over the last year. As always, in my quest for self-improvement, I turn to the internet and some great websites to help me get ready for my new resolutions for the upcoming year.  Here are just a few I subscribe to:
